A seminar entitled “Mushroom Production” at University Of Anbar: November 29, 2025

As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Environment in the College of Applied Sciences – Hit at the University Of Anbar, and in cooperation with the founder of the Iraqi Mushroom and Truffle Platform (IQMT), a seminar entitled “Mushroom Production” was held and presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Nadhim Owaid on Wednesday, 26/11/2025. The lecturer discussed the scientific foundations of edible mushroom production, its growth requirements, and its nutritional and economic importance. He also addressed modern cultivation methods, the challenges facing this type of production, and provided an introduction to the Iraqi Mushroom and Truffle Platform (IQMT), which is dedicated to promoting the culture of producing and consuming edible mushrooms locally in Iraq. This seminar comes as part of the Department of Environment’s commitment at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Anbar, to enhancing applied knowledge and encouraging students to engage in research and practical projects with environmental and nutritional value.

Launching two journals with memberships for international editors, specializing in mycology and mushrooms, to support fungi in arid and semi-arid regions, as well as research on desert truffles in Iraq and the surrounding region.
